How to Make a Shopify Free Shipping Discount

Step 1: Go to Discounts

On the Shopify admin interface, take a look at the list on the left side. You will find Discounts option with a percentage-badge icon. All you need to do is simply clicking on it!

Step 2: Click Create Free Shipping Discount

After the Discount section appears, click on the Create discount button at the top right corner to make a new offer.

Step 3: Configure the new discount's attributes

Before presenting this to your cherished customers, there are a few details you must enter in the Create discount code section.

Discount code: In here, you can make new codes that your customers will use to apply the discount. Another easier and faster way is clicking Generate code to automatically generate new codes.

Options: You can select the type of discount under Discount type. Choose "Free shipping."

Countries: Using this information, you can decide whether to offer free shipping to All countries or just a few. You can check the box labeled "Exclude shipping rates over a certain amount" and enter a monetary value in the dropdown field if you want to make an extremely special offer to only some customers who would otherwise have to pay a certain amount of money. This discount is independent of order value and only applies to shipping costs.

Minimum requirement: With this field, you can charge your customers the least amount of money in order to activate the discount code. This minimum requirement is based on the quantity of items purchased.

Customer eligibility: You can choose specific customers or clientele groups in this field who will be eligible to use this discount. Your customer list will be presented to you in a drop-down list, and if your ideal customer group doesn't already exist, you can create one. The dropdown list will display all customers along with their email addresses if you choose Specific customers. If some of your customers' email addresses aren't in your data, other contact details, like phone numbers, will show up in their place.

Usage limits: You must check one or possibly both of the options in this section if you want to restrict how often your customer can use this discount.

After entering the desired number of times in the blank, you can restrict how many times this discount can be used overall by all qualifying customers. regardless of the number of customers who use the discount or the number of times each qualified customer may use it. A different option is to select Limit to one use per customer.

Active dates: You can decide how long your discount will be available by using this section. You can specify a deadline to limit the time that your offer is available.

Step 4: Click Save Free Shippnig discount

After setting details and attributes of the new discount, you will see it on the discount list. You can check and change those details again by clicking on the discount, the specific discount section will appear right after. Shopify also gives you some option to share and advertise the new discount, all you need to do is simply clicking on Promote.
